STEINHAUS INSURANCE GRPOUP
DAN STEINHAUS
What is your favorite place(s) you have traveled to?
My wife and I love to travel! My favorite company trips so far were Munich, Germany and Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada! I started traveling in 2011. My favorite places outside of our incentive trips are: Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, Tulum ruins in Mexico and lots of cities/towns across Italy and Switzerland!
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and in December 2012 I moved to Philadelphia to expand our agency!
When did you join SIG?
January 2010 and never looked back!
What are some of your hobbies/interests?
My business is my #1 but I also enjoy running, cycling, sushi, Thai food, eating somewhat healthy, traveling, family time and an occasional bourbon or Chianti Classico. I’m a Steelers fan and Sixers season ticket holder since 2013!
What do you enjoy the most about being a part of SIG?
This opportunity has provided me with a purposeful direction. No matter where I go, I can help someone with our product (affordable final expense insurance that families desperately need) or by offering a life-changing, financially rewarding career. It’s changed my perspective of what I’m capable of achieving, and how I can help others achieve more as well. This career has given me more meaning and fulfillment in all aspects of life than anything else I’ve ever done.
What is one of your favorite quotes?
“You can have results or excuses, but not both.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger. I say something very similar to the agents I mentor as it applies to our business. For the agents about to join our team- it’s not a matter of can or can’t, it’s a matter of will or won’t. Once your’e here, go all in!
What did you do for work before SIG?
I started working when I was 3 years old and started paying taxes when I was 13 years old doing landscaping for the family business. I went to college to become a elementary school teacher. In 2010 I quit teaching, cold turkey, in schools and began teaching about final expense insurance.
What are 3 tips for our future leaders joining our team?
1) Work through your fears. Get uncomfortable!
2) Work 50 hours per week.
3) Be coachable

“The mentor-ship and leadership is phenomenal. I’ve worked with other insurance companies and had regular 9-5 jobs and nothing compares to the type of support we have with SIG.”
“There are many perks to being a part of SIG. The camaraderie and family atmosphere are what I enjoy most.”
